Summer....???
Summer....??? did we have one? I was worried may be Evan Almighty got it right! - the Ark that is...
Well we took of on holiday for a couple of weeks at the end of June and the first week of July. And headed of to Sunny France..full of expectation, suncream and really looking forward to some great vino and relax! Well we got everything except the sun! on arrival in Brittany it was 14 degrees and raining - Tores comments went something like...we could have gone to Ballater for this. Any way we made the most of it. The Kids loved the swimming, India took to the flumes and Xanthe made the most of the kiddies pool We read! what else is there to do in a caravan when its rains.. So that was France.
I was speaking at Clan Gathering youth venue mid July - great to see so many young people passionate for Jesus. Big up for the clan gang. Then it was pretty much straight into Imagine.
This year the guys at Imagine most of the main sessions pulling in over 600. Its growing and thats great! for those that dont know the imagine festival is a youth festival run by a bunch of pals that want to see the youth of Scotland really inspired and passionate about God and will actively bring change to their world. This year I was doing the Imagine Men! seminars...All manly stuff - sorry guys if your scarred for life now...
what else happened in August?
I helped out at City churches Holiday Club! what a laugh that was...you know its all about making inroads into our community, and as a result a numbr of mums are also frequenting Church. Evangelism takes all sorts of shapes and sizes and if acting daft with a bunch of kidz helps to show that Jesus loves them and opens up conversations with parents then bring it on!
Still organising things for Street Pastors! we go live in October and I am very excited about this project. - More on this later.
Preached at City Church and Ellon Community Churches and even a joint Men and women of Glow night in Peterhead.
August for me was all about personal witness and I had the privilege
and honour of spending a lot of time with a close friend whose been battling with cancer...Its been an amazing and heart breaking journey. I will tell more another time.
so long for now. J
