Happy New Year!
Happy new year. We hope that this finds you well. This is the first ever post to keep you all up to date with our news and progress along the path that we believe God is calling us to.
I suppose that the first thing we'd like to say is that God has been stirring our hearts over the last few months about James' current work and his ministry.
Whilst we believe that working for City Church over the last eight years has been an honour and blessing, it has become apparent that James' gifting as an evangelist needs a broader arena in which to function. Our heart is to serve the Church in Aberdeen and Scotland and be true to the God's calling on our lives. We don't know where this will lead, but feel that we are embarking on a fresh pilgrimage which is exciting and will no doubt be challenging.
As a family, we are part of the furniture at City Church, and feel that God has placed us there to serve and to grow. This will remain unchanged. James will continue to preach, Tori will continue to lead worship and the girls will continue to?..well, play and do all the fun stuff they normally do.
Family
India is now four, having a great time at nursery. She spends much of her waking hours in a parallel universe being a princess needing rescued. Xanthe, who will be two in May, is hilarious in that mad, two year old kind of way. She's a bit of a comedienne and loves seeing how things work.
I am currently learning to drive - it's been a long time coming, but I finally bit the bullet - much prayer required! haha. I'm doing some piano teaching for primary age children too, which is good fun. Ducey hasn't really changed, except for the hairline maybe! He's made some good friends in the village and is still going to the gym.
So what will the future look like?
We feel that the Church in Aberdeen is currently in such a great place of unity of purpose that this venture has kingdom values written all over it. James will function as an evangelist, supporting the local Churches and developing partnerships on a wider basis.
Come the 1st of April (an apt day we thought!), we will move to self employment status. We will endeavour to update this website so you can see how things are unfolding and if you're part of the community you could drop him a comment or two.
Well that's us for now, love to all, God help us!!
